Souvik Datta

I am a Graduate student in Electrical Engineering at the National University of Singapore. I hold a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, and have previously worked as a Software Developer at QBlocks.

Before starting my graduate studies, I worked at Omnipresent Robot Technologies in New Delhi, where I developed Deep Learning models for drones. Following this, I had the opportunity to intern with PT Kaltim Prima Coal in Indonesia. During this internship, I led a UAV project that successfully increased revenue by $1.26 million.

Throughout my time at VIT, I collaborated on various AI, Robotics, and Electrical Engineering research projects with my professors, which deepened my interest in these fields. I also actively contributed to open-source projects and achieved notable accomplishments such as achieving 10th place in the electric BAJA SAE Competition 2022 and winning the Aerospace Quiz League at VIT. Additionally, I was a Student Member of the Youth Red Cross, where I engaged in various community initiatives.

I am excited about the future and look forward to contributing to amazing projects in AI, Robotics, and Aviation. If you share similar interests or have a project in mind, let's connect and explore the possibilities together.

3DSP IoT Book Bot
Souvik Datta, Mangolik Kundu, Ratnadeep Das Choudhury, Sriramalakshmi P and Sreedevi VT
IEEE India Council Subsections Conference (INDISCON), 2022
Paper / IEEE Xplore / Code / Certificate

To ensure timely submission of the issued books, this work develops a "Book-Bot" which solves these complexities. The bot can commute from point A to point B, scan and verify QR Codes and Barcodes. The bot will have a certain payload capacity for carrying books. The QR code and Barcode scanning will be enabled by a Pi Camera, OpenCV and Raspberry Pi, thus making the exchange of books safe and secure. The odometry maneuvers of the bot will be controlled manually via a Blynk App.

3DSP IoT-Based Anaesthesia Control and Monitoring System
Mangolik Kundu, Souvik Datta and Kanimozhi G.
Reinvention of Health Applications with IoT: Challenges and Solutions, 2022
Google Books / Taylor & Francis

With this chapter, we wanted to analyse the frequency, type, and severity of equipment-related problems and come out with a solution to improve safety standards. The primary use of the proposed model is to design an improved automatic anaesthesia delivery system that overcomes the disadvantages of the manual methods.

3DSP Two Stage Boost Inverter for Wave Energy Conversion
Souvik Datta and Sriramalakshmi P.
International Conference on Advances in Energy Research (ICAER), 2022
Paper / PPT / Certificate

This research article presents the single phase two stage boost inverter system for wave energy conversion. The boost inverter is used to boost up the voltage availed from the permanent magnet generator powered by a wave energy converter system using zeta converter and then invert it using an H-bridge inverter. Hence variable magnitude AC voltage is converted to constant magnitude AC voltage at constant frequency.

3DSP Semi-Supervised Learning for Autonomous Navigation
Souvik Datta, R. Bharatwaj, Subbulekshmi D, Deepa T and Angeleshawri S.
International Conference on Data Analytics and Computing (ICDAC), 2022
Abstract / PPT / Certificate

Complex domains have a dense relational structure that can be represented as a graph. Graphs are the new frontier of Deep Learning as they can represent a wide range of real-world data, such as flow networks, social networks, and food webs. The agent learns from its surroundings and determines the best way to the destination.
